"I began painting on my own, inspired by the beautiful sunsets over the Bay of Guanabara in Rio de Janeiro. My work... evolved as I sought out information in books and exhibitions. After getting married and having five children, I was able to spend more time at home and my painting grew up with my children.

"Later, I began to receive orientation from masters like Arlindo Mesquita and my technique evolved greatly. I exhibited my work in art galleries and exhibitions. But my greatest challenge was when I started selling my work in 1981. Fortunately, during all these years I've been able to live by selling my art with dignity and provide good conditions for my children to study in.

"For four years now I've been experimenting with more contemporary painting styles, which has made my work more loose and free. To be part of Novica for me is to be part of the most modern tendencies of art distribution."
