Lidia Par Puzul

I have always been drawn to the vibrant world of beads, cherishing their myriad of colors and creative possibilities.

"Hello, I'm Lidia Par Puzul, and I was born in 1986 in the picturesque town of Panajachel, nestled along the shores of... the stunning Lake Atitlán in Sololá, Guatemala. Growing up, I was fortunate to have the guidance of my parents, who instilled in me a deep appreciation for the art of working with beads.

"It was my mother who first introduced me to the world of beadwork, and I vividly remember the sense of accomplishment I felt when I completed my very first beaded coin purse at the age of 15. The journey was challenging, but the support and admiration of my parents and friends kept me going, no matter how difficult it got.

"In the face of adversity, I found my strength. Once, my heart sank when my store was robbed, and my precious creations were stolen. However, I refused to be defeated, for I am a brave and determined artisan. I returned to crafting, working tirelessly to keep my business afloat.

"I have always been drawn to the vibrant world of beads, cherishing their myriad of colors and creative possibilities. My favorite creations are the exquisite V-shaped necklaces, but I also revel in the joy of crafting ornaments and holiday-inspired pieces during Christmas.

"My dream is to secure a bright future for my children, just as my mother did for me. Passing down the art of beadwork to them brings me immense joy, and I'm determined to provide for my family through my craft.

"Being an independent artisan is no easy path, but with the unwavering support of my loyal customers, I've built a solid foundation. I'm now excited to explore new opportunities with Novica. My work relies on beads, thread, needles, creativity, and patience. Despite the challenges of fluctuating bead prices and changing colors, I persevere because I love what I do, and it brings joy to those who appreciate my creations.

"In my moments of rest, I relish the chance to explore and make cherished memories with my children. Thank you for your continued support of Guatemalan craftsmanship."
