I aim to help the world experience traditional values through these crafts, which are both beautiful and meaningful.

"Hello, friends! I am Rajveer, and I work in the field of artisan empowerment through local economic development.... Working closely with artisans who often receive very little compensation for their exceptional skills has been both humbling and emotional. It is heartbreaking to see the amount of time, effort, and creativity they pour into their craft, only to be undervalued. Yet, despite these challenges, the artisans' passion and dedication to their work are undeniable. They take great pride in their craft, and many are eager to learn new techniques and expand their designs. However, limited marketing opportunities and the restricted reach of their products have often meant that they were unable to earn a fair price for their creations.

"This experience inspired me to help provide better marketing avenues for these artisans, particularly through the potential of e-commerce. I saw how online platforms could connect artisans with global markets, allowing them to showcase their work and receive fair compensation. The journey to making this vision a reality was not without its challenges. It took hard work, persistence, and a lot of dedication. There were times when progress seemed slow, but the impact we could have on these artisans' lives kept me motivated. After months of effort, I was able to launch an e-commerce platform for these artisans. This initiative started as early as 2000, with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), focusing on four major crafts: wood, glass, handloom, and brass.

"Seeing the joy and pride on the artisans' faces when they received fair compensation for their work was incredibly rewarding. It reaffirmed that even small actions can have a big impact on people's lives. Through this work, I’ve learned the true value of perseverance, empathy, and commitment. I’m inspired to continue working toward a world where every artisan has access to fair and equal opportunities, and where the skills and talents of all individuals are recognized and valued.

"My personal mission is to bring India’s unique art and crafts to a global stage, especially handicraft and handloom products that carry deep cultural significance. I aim to help the world experience traditional values through these crafts, which are both beautiful and meaningful.

"By working with NOVICA, I believe the artisans I help can enhance their skills, improve their resources, and reach a broader audience, promoting their crafts to a global market."
