The four faces of love, also known as the Brahmviharas, peek out from this watercolor painting by India's Shikha Kaistha. The artist uses a complex combination of blue, orange, and yellow to paint the four-faced heart, an image inspired by the Buddhist myth of Brahma. It is said the god Brahma had four faces, each representing a different aspect of unselfish love.

"Hi friends! I am Shikha Kaistha. I staunchly believe that magic happens with every breath we inhale during our lifetime. The respiration process, undoubtedly scientific, yet, is extremely spiritual. The world's existence, life, energy and similar cryptic thoughts continued to fascinate me for years. I ruminate over it for a long time; intrigued by the beautiful creation designed and created by the mysterious Creator. All doubts, gradually, with experience settled down; unraveling a beautiful path gleaming towards the divine light. It simply can’t be described in words.

"The mystical experience inspired me to be an artist. My creative professional background, along with divine blessings, enabled me to develop a creative, artistic spiritual thought process, with which I can portray the cryptic phenomena: human mind, body, soul, and universe on the canvas.

"My major artworks highlight the myriad stratum of the cosmic world. It also showcases divine light showering her blessings to the entire universe. I believe I don’t paint but meditate along with colors, brushes, and canvases. Such is the ecstasy that I derive from painting.

"I aspire to make pieces of art that bring joy to everyone who sees them. Despite being different in color, sex, nationality yet all of us are beautifully connected and knitted with a divine thread. My art pieces mirror them on the canvas. I am sincerely grateful to Novica for giving me such a wonderful platform to showcase my talent to the whole world."

“Hi Friends! I am Shikha Kaistha. I was born in 1981. I am a graduate in fashion design. As a librarian, I was always attracted by and inclined to do creative things. My creativity dates back to my childhood days. I loved to draw and paint; bright colors always fascinated me. As I grew up, I started loving the dreamlike quality of art. I could draw anything and everything that my brain imagined. I feel like art takes me to another world. Such is the ecstasy that I derive from painting.

“Now, I am based in Mumbai. Since moving here, I got married and started working in a garment export house. But, my passion for art and love for creating new things has made me an artist. Since I always wanted to do something creative and unique, I decided to start painting and give form to my passion and hobby.

“I am a self-taught artist. People and things around me are my source of inspiration. Hindu culture and tradition have also inspired me to paint. I believe in the power of meditation and have observed the positivity and happiness that it brings to one’s mind. Positive visualization is a very powerful tool to bring about positive changes in life.

“My favorite thing about art is that, once I am into the mood, my art keeps developing itself in my mind. I love the concept of mixed media and incorporate it with acrylic on canvas. I also love to work with dot art, since it is a part of meditation. Doing this regularly will definitely increase patience and focus. I use materials that are available locally and are easy to work with. My husband has been a constant support in organizing the raw materials, such as wood, canvas, colors, etc. I have a beautiful daughter who is also fascinated by my work, and she keeps asking me about methods and other details.

FINDING YOUR SIZE

Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.

BUST / CHEST

Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.

WAIST

Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.

LOW WAIST

Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.

HIPS

Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.

NECK

Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.

SLEEVE

Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.

INSEAM

Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.

 

Belts with buckles are measured in inches that correspond to a waist size however, most people do not wear belts on the waist, they wear them closer to the hips. A buckle belt measurement is take from the end of the "pin" of the buckle to the middle hole on the belt. Generally there are 5 holes for size adjustment, with a 1" space between each, so the middle hole will the be average size of the belt.

For at tie belt (no buckle) measure the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This again is the medium size of the belt.

For a soft fabric tie belt it can be called "1 size fits most" and the entire length of the belt should be measured and listed.

Sash tie length

Lay sash/tie out flat away from the garment and measure from end to end.

Belt with buckle

Measure from the end of the pin of the buckle (where it touches the buckle) to the middle hole.

Belt without buckle

Measure from the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This is will give you the medium size of the belt.
