Reminiscent of the lavish ornamentation at Jag Mandir Palace in Rajasthan, these sterling silver dangle earrings are designed by Deepika Agarwal. The artisan deliberately oxidizes certain areas to being out the spectacular detail. Three linked segments, each beautifully different, dangle from sterling posts.

“Hi friends! My name is Deepika Agarwal and my friends know me for my honesty, hard work and creative mind. I always... wanted to work for myself and people around me. I believe that we all should be capable of earning and be financially independent. And through my profession, I am not only independent but have also empowered many rural females by helping them sustain their craft of beading.

“My great-grandfather started working with handcrafted sterling silver jewelry. With the passage of time, the tradition continued in the family. And slowly the artist in me started exploring a modern touch in traditional jewelry. And my passion to spread the culture and create a sustainable livelihood for the dying craft of handmade silver jewelry bought me into this profession. I grew up seeing the handmade jewelry of my father. And I ended up learning handcrafted silver jewelry making from my father-in-law. Thus I can say that jewelry runs in my blood.

“I design and craft as well. I also have many experienced artisans who work with me. Different parts of the jewelry are made by different artisan specialists. Like filigree work is done by a filigree artisan, setting a stone by that specialist, and plating from a different artisan. So every design involves hard work and the love of all its makers. The authenticity of the designs and love of the maker makes every piece different. Selecting stones to be strung in a specific style for my jewelry is my favorite part.

“My father and nature are my inspiration. Jewelry designing is a never-ending field. I am regularly studying old historical jewelry, to learn more about antique silver jewelry trends which can be revived back in the modern fashion world. I am also learning new techniques regularly to make the work more fine. Innovation in design with a touch of history is my favorite. Getting a perfect finish like machine-made pieces is a big challenge.

“Taking up jewelry designing as a profession and creating unique jewelry was full of challenges, but I took the initial hiccups as a puzzle to solve. I would often talk to people around me, take their insight, and do some deep thinking to find a solution. And if I failed, I always had my father to look up to. He always told me that it is okay to fail, but try again. Look back, learn from your mistakes, stay calm and take another stride; success is near.

“We use semi-precious and precious stones. We source the raw stones and get the finishing done by our artisans. Our complete process from the beginning to the end is handmade, and we only use hand-operated equipment during this process. Thus our products are zero-waste products. Only the melting and plating processes involve heating. Thus all our products are environment friendly and natural.

“My work provides a sustainable living to our artisans who have long been connected with us. Even if a team worker does not specialize in any crafting process, we slowly and gradually train him or her accordingly. We also have many workers in rural areas that learn and get work from us. We made it a point that they do not need to migrate from their villages for permanent work. I want to sustain their crafts and provide them a livelihood and a happy family life, as migrating workers not only suffer loneliness, but their family also bears the pain of being without them. And amidst COVID-19, we felt proud of our decision, as our artisans were not disrupted due to migration.

“I would love to be close to nature in the future. With passage of time I would like to shift to a mountain valley with green all around, and promote the crafts and traditions of the natives. I wish to give enough self-generated employment to people in rural areas so that they can stay in their beautiful abodes without migrating for work.

“I am thankful to you for providing us a platform to exhibit our talent and designs all over the world.”

FINDING YOUR SIZE

Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.

BUST / CHEST

Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.

WAIST

Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.

LOW WAIST

Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.

HIPS

Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.

NECK

Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.

SLEEVE

Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.

INSEAM

Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.

 

Belts with buckles are measured in inches that correspond to a waist size however, most people do not wear belts on the waist, they wear them closer to the hips. A buckle belt measurement is take from the end of the "pin" of the buckle to the middle hole on the belt. Generally there are 5 holes for size adjustment, with a 1" space between each, so the middle hole will the be average size of the belt.

For at tie belt (no buckle) measure the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This again is the medium size of the belt.

For a soft fabric tie belt it can be called "1 size fits most" and the entire length of the belt should be measured and listed.

Sash tie length

Lay sash/tie out flat away from the garment and measure from end to end.

Belt with buckle

Measure from the end of the pin of the buckle (where it touches the buckle) to the middle hole.

Belt without buckle

Measure from the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This is will give you the medium size of the belt.
