This serene oil on canvas painting by India's Sakshi Jain captures a cluster of blooming magnolia flowers rendered in soft, natural shades. The petals, painted in delicate white, cream and muted brown, appear almost sculptural, unfolding gracefully against a warm golden-beige background. The subtle gradient of the backdrop enhances the depth of the blossoms, allowing their gentle curves and intricate shading to stand out. Slender branches weave through the stunning composition, supporting buds and blooms at various stages of growth, adding a sense of movement and quiet elegance.
"Art has never been just a hobby or a profession for me. It has been my lifelong companion, my form of communication, and my emotional outlet."
"My name is Sakshi Jain, and I truly believe I was born to create art. Born in 1990, in Gurgaon, the cyber hub of India,... my journey as an artist is deeply intertwined with my life story — one of resilience, passion, and hope.
"From the very beginning, life presented me with a unique challenge. I was born with severe hearing loss in both ears, a condition that has shaped much of who I am today. While many people with no such challenges often take communication and connection for granted, I had to navigate a world where listening was never easy. But instead of letting this define or limit me, I found a voice , a powerful and expressive voice through art.
"Art has never been just a hobby or a profession for me. It has been my lifelong companion, my form of communication, and my emotional outlet. Through every stroke, texture, and shade, I tell stories that words sometimes fail to express. Painting is not just what I do — it’s who I am.
"The roots of my artistic journey run deep in my family. My grandfather, a skilled artisan in wood carving, passed down a love for creation that I proudly carry forward. As a child, I would fill the walls of our home with drawings, much to the amusement and eventual encouragement of my parents. They recognized the spark in me and helped nurture it with love and unwavering support.
"With passion in my heart and brushes in my hand, I pursued formal education in the arts. I completed both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Diploma in Fine Arts, laying the foundation for a career that I deeply cherish. Since my school days, I have been under the mentorship of Mr. Sunil Jaiswal, a respected artist based in Gurgaon. He has been guiding me since I was in the tenth grade, and to this day, remains a significant influence and a constant source of inspiration in my artistic journey.
"I work primarily with oil paints, acrylics, and charcoal on canvas, each medium offering its own challenges and joys. Among them, charcoal on canvas stands out as my personal favorite and also the most difficult to master. Unlike paper, canvas does not allow easy corrections. Once a line is drawn with charcoal, it becomes part of the composition — permanent and raw. This demands both precision and confidence, something I have developed over years of dedication. There’s a thrill in working with a medium that leaves little room for error. It reflects life in a way — unpredictable, messy, but also incredibly beautiful.
"Over the years, I have had the honor of showcasing my work in several prestigious art galleries and exhibitions across India. My paintings have been displayed at Visual Arts Gallery – India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) and Various other noted galleries and group exhibitions. These opportunities have allowed me to connect with fellow artists, collectors, and art lovers, and have given me the confidence to keep pushing my boundaries as a creator.
"Art is not only a source of healing and joy for me, it is my purpose. I dream of earning recognition as a leading artist, not just for my work, but as someone who overcame personal challenges and stayed true to her passion. Through my paintings, I want to inspire others, especially those living with disabilities, to believe in their potential. No matter the struggle, with determination, support, and love for what you do, anything is possible."

FINDING YOUR SIZE
Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.
BUST / CHEST
Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.
WAIST
Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.
LOW WAIST
Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.
HIPS
Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.
NECK
Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.
SLEEVE
Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.
INSEAM
Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.
Belts with buckles are measured in inches that correspond to a waist size however, most people do not wear belts on the waist, they wear them closer to the hips. A buckle belt measurement is take from the end of the "pin" of the buckle to the middle hole on the belt. Generally there are 5 holes for size adjustment, with a 1" space between each, so the middle hole will the be average size of the belt.
For at tie belt (no buckle) measure the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This again is the medium size of the belt.
For a soft fabric tie belt it can be called "1 size fits most" and the entire length of the belt should be measured and listed.
See buckle/tie belt size standards below.
