Elegant and refined, this red leather wallet is crafted by Sharon and Rebeca Tello Villegas with just the features you need. The lined tri-fold wallet has one long pocket for bills and three smaller pockets, one with a transparent sleeve, for cards and identification. The Costa Rican artisans recommend occasionally polishing the wallet with a leather moisturizing cream and to avoid prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight.

“Our project was born from the influence of many people: our grandfather and dad worked leather all their lives, and... that made my sisters and I grow up surrounded by this beautiful material. Thanks to that we learned to work from an early age. I always enjoyed the manual work enormously, and took every opportunity I had and every material I could find in the house to do small projects. We were also influenced by my maternal grandfather, who is a tailor, and an aunt, who is a seamstress.

“Textiles are another of my great passions, and in fact before thinking about setting up a leather goods business, I started producing handbags and dresses with my sisters. However, very little time passed before we realized that working with leather was what really satisfied us.

“It all started because I would make handbags and sandals from time to time, and this caused some people to start asking me for orders. Every time I realized that I could design and produce items that I liked, that satisfied my creative need and helped me stay afloat. Another of the things that influenced me the most was going to study Plastic Design at the UCR since it allowed me to have clearer guidelines when designing, which gave me more confidence and certainty in what I was doing. Thanks to this I started creating my own designs that allowed me to give my brand personality and originality. Another of the events that led to the creation of the brand was a course at the University that was a general earnings challenge from a creative project. It was thanks to this assignment that I decided to design items for the 2014 Fine Arts Fair.

“This fair was a very good start, since it allowed us to make many contacts and start marketing my products in stores. After a while I realized that I could not cope with the production, and this in turn allowed me to fulfill another of my dreams: to generate work for other people.

“After many fairs (some very good, and others not so much) I realized that I have the best job I could wish for, because although it is difficult and involves a lot of economic risk, I can share my ideas and designs, generate jobs, and live from what I love.”

FINDING YOUR SIZE

Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.

BUST / CHEST

Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.

WAIST

Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.

LOW WAIST

Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.

HIPS

Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.

NECK

Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.

SLEEVE

Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.

INSEAM

Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.

 

Belts with buckles are measured in inches that correspond to a waist size however, most people do not wear belts on the waist, they wear them closer to the hips. A buckle belt measurement is take from the end of the "pin" of the buckle to the middle hole on the belt. Generally there are 5 holes for size adjustment, with a 1" space between each, so the middle hole will the be average size of the belt.

For at tie belt (no buckle) measure the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This again is the medium size of the belt.

For a soft fabric tie belt it can be called "1 size fits most" and the entire length of the belt should be measured and listed.

Sash tie length

Lay sash/tie out flat away from the garment and measure from end to end.

Belt with buckle

Measure from the end of the pin of the buckle (where it touches the buckle) to the middle hole.

Belt without buckle

Measure from the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This is will give you the medium size of the belt.
