How to Mix Silver and Gold Jewelry

I used to be one of those sticklers for only wearing my silver jewelry or my gold jewelry, but why? Seriously. WHY!?  The first time I stacked a gold bracelet and a silver watch I thought …. ‘Hey! That looks great! Let’s layer some more!’ Now, I don’t think there is a day that goes by that I am not mixing silver and gold jewelry.

Where do you start? Begin with your favorite piece of jewelry, perhaps a gold or silver watch?  Then have fun and start shopping on UNICEF MARKET!  Trust me, they have some amazing pieces to chose from.

You could also start with a bold bracelet of silver or gold.  Personally, I have my eye on this bracelet.

This .925 sterling silver piece is crafted by hand and features an ornate pendant at the center of sterling silver braids. So pretty!!

I would add another bracelet with a charm or two. I found this particular bracelet very enchanting.  Did you know that Feng Shui practitioners believe elephants with their trunks facing upwards represent prosperity, good luck, and success?  Now you really want this bracelet, right? Me too!

I love the fact that this bracelet sports blue calcite and gold beads, along with a cute little elephant for luck!

Bracelets aren’t the only things you can mix. Necklaces can be fun too, especially if you are combining colors, lengths, and stones. Silver jewelry goes with every skin tone! Though it’s great any time of the year, I love silver in the summertime. (Summer is close enough now to plan my wardrobe? Isn’t it!? PLEASE?)

I started with this 36″ silver and green onyx necklace. Imagine how amazing this will be on a flowing black top!

I love the Duduma Majesty necklace because if you don’t want it to hang the full 36″ you can double it and you’re set for a completely different look.

Adding to the silver and green necklace I personally would look for a gold piece either with a dainty chain or on a cord like this gold “LOVE” nugget piece which hangs from a 17.75″ inches long, rope-like cord.

It’s inspirational, unique, fun and not only great for layering, but perfection on its own. Imagine sporting that necklace this summer with a light breezy top!  Super cute!
For the last necklace, I debated between a very dainty gold choker and this silver and topaz piece called ‘Azure Allure’. This piece is so unique and bold it would look amazing with a sweater or a summer dress. I love everything about this piece; the chain, the stone, and the setting. It’s 18″ long and oh, so pretty!

A total of 1.5 karats of topaz really makes this piece sparkle.

If big, bold pieces aren’t your style, then start small. Stack a gold band and silver band on your finger and try it for a day.

Experiment with a silver bracelet and a gold watch, or visa versa. The old rules just don’t apply anymore! HAVE FUN!! Let the YOU show through in your style, and know that shopping with UNICEF means you get something amazing and you help the artists and their families.  That’s a win-win in my book!
