Khun Boom is a special artisan from Thaliand, and we are proud to state that she is the 2015 Chiang Mai Creative City Design Award Winner. She is an exceptional talent and began working at a young age, initially to help her family. Her parents had divorced and after her father passed away, Khun needed to provide for her family. With fantastic support from her mother, she was well-trained in school and excelled at art and design, earning a degree from the Chiang Mai Institute of Technology. She has worked across the world but sees the influences from the city in which she grew up and earned her education.
“Being born into the varied and abundant culture of Chiang Mai, I was exposed to the world of traditional art and the customs from China and Southeast Asia. This contributed to my love for art, which began at an early age and has become a life-long passion for design and creation. My love for art is ingrained in my personality, and it comes through in the care, love, and attention to detail that I put into every piece I design. I am so proud to be Thai, and I hope to share some of that pride with you.”
