"I must have art in my blood."

"When I was born, I was so chubby you couldn't see my neck. Ever since, my father has called me 'Bolita,' or 'Little... Round Ball.' I was born in Lima in March of 1974. From the time I was a little boy, I loved to draw. So I decided to major in advertising art. I also took courses in architecture, but neither satisfied me, so I applied to the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. It was wonderful! I practically lived at the school, so filled with art and artistic freedom. I learned so many techniques and let the art within me just flow into the most diverse forms of expression – painting, carving, sculpture.... I must have art in my blood – my father and grandfather were both good at painting with oils.

"After a year, my mother asked me to come and live with her in Texas. There, I met a Peruvian friend who was a jeweler, and who introduced me to the fascinating world of precious metals and gemstones.

"In jewelry, I've found a medium of bodily expression. In the School of Fine Arts, I learned to express my ideas with a brush and oils. And I can also do so through silver, gold and precious stones. I worked for nine years perfecting my jewelry art.

Today, in 2010, I've spent 18 years crafting jewelry, and I know this is the medium of expression I hoped to find.

"I live in Peru doing what I love most, passionate about jewelry. For me, each piece of jewelry is a work of art, and I'm a perfectionist as I create them. I hope you enjoy the quality and design of my art."
