Eden Family

Eden Family

We want to express our pride in our cultural diversity, our sense of environmental consciousness, and eventually become a channel for aiding environmental conservation.

"My name is Andres Eden and I am part of a family workshop that began thanks to my father. Seventeen years ago, he made... the decision to come to Bogotá and embark on a specialized journey of artistic jewelry learning. Thanks to a significant training opportunity at a museum, he was able to study this discipline for 5 years. The initial years were very challenging as mastery in the reconstruction of pre-Hispanic pieces was required, which was quite difficult to achieve. With an ultimatum given at the museum, my father was able to reclaim his position as a master jeweler, creating the famous "winged fish" that represents the mythical union of two worlds: water and air. This piece gained significant recognition, solidifying his title as a master jeweler.

"Inspiration from nature came naturally; my father sought to achieve textures and realistic movement of fauna. Everything begins with observation and the ideation of the construction process from his skillful and creative mind. During this pursuit of perfection, he took a trip to the Amazon in search of ways to apply color. A curious encounter with a group of indigenous people who had natural markings of wonderful colors became the starting point for the application of color onto silver. This starting point was accompanied by numerous failed attempts to experiment with various paints. This moment marks the beginning of his current creations.

"Currently, we complement each other well as a family; my father oversees the creative aspect, my sister and mother handle the production side of things, and I handle the commercial aspect. This dream began with my father's vision of leaving a legacy for the family.

"What moves us the most is the connection we've come to establish with nature through jewelry. The spiritual power that each animal holds and how this captivates our customers. This entire experience has helped me perceive art in a different way; I now better understand the purpose of colors, combinations, and the use of textures.

"Our family goal is to bring about a change in Latin American jewelry. We aim to be leaders in the market. We want to express our pride in our cultural diversity, our sense of environmental consciousness, and eventually become a channel for aiding environmental conservation. We are pleased to be able to contribute locally through employment and play our part in our country's development."
