Inspired by religious artistry, J. Blas designs a wall cross with medieval stylizations. Blas crafts the wrought iron cross by hand and centers it with Christ's burning sacred heart. Wrapped by a crown of thorns, the sacred heart symbolizes Jesus' divine love for humanity.

Every piece crafted at my workshop goes hand in hand with originality, design and quality.

"Hello. My name is J. Blas. From the time I was small, I've enjoyed arts and crafts. I loved to dig and prepare clay to... make my own pieces and, from that time on, I began to experiment with ceramics. When I was 17, I started my own ceramic workshop because I hate to ask anyone for work – I feel shy and ashamed. Due to my lack of experience, I had to shut it down and went to work in other studios as well as in a ceramics museum, where I learned everything – from how to look for clay to crafting techniques.

"Over time, I learned more and more and became aware of the critical stages that clay has, and where it is good to depend on other people to work it perfectly. And so I changed directions and began to work in wrought iron and blown glass. When things began to get better, I started to experiment with sheets of iron of different weights to give my works more movement.

"Currently I again have my own workshop where we craft a variety of designs, mostly decorative. We cut the metal sheets and hammer them into shape. Then we weld them and add the details. For a clean appearance, we submerge them in an acid bath to remove grease and carbon. After that, they are treated to retard rust before we paint them with special, lead-free paint.

"We are the first workshop in the area to utilize molds as a work tool and to give more originality to our products. Every piece from my shop goes hand-in-hand with originality, design and quality. We are always developing new designs and products.

"I became acquainted with Novica in the early days and you could say I've watched your grand evolution and transformation.

"Since 2003, I've worked with you with a series of designs that has grown in ways we never imagined.

"In the beginning, my greatest challenge was organizing the work and assuring its quality. My workshop has grown to occupy a larger property that has let us improve the crafting process.

"At first, I found it difficult to work in a different way but, without it, this would be chaos. Organizing our work has been the trampoline for a great leap forward in improving the quality of our work and letting us place a special focus on each design.

"I believe your suggestions from the very beginning helped us polish our passions and achieve better results. You've helped me see the importance of good training for each of the people who assist me.

"We learned to invite our assistants to participate in all the projects where we take part, and they, in turn, have brought their passion, responsibility, happiness and commitment to all we do.

"We're very grateful to all of you."

FINDING YOUR SIZE

Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.

BUST / CHEST

Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.

WAIST

Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.

LOW WAIST

Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.

HIPS

Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.

NECK

Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.

SLEEVE

Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.

INSEAM

Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.

 

Belts with buckles are measured in inches that correspond to a waist size however, most people do not wear belts on the waist, they wear them closer to the hips. A buckle belt measurement is take from the end of the "pin" of the buckle to the middle hole on the belt. Generally there are 5 holes for size adjustment, with a 1" space between each, so the middle hole will the be average size of the belt.

For at tie belt (no buckle) measure the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This again is the medium size of the belt.

For a soft fabric tie belt it can be called "1 size fits most" and the entire length of the belt should be measured and listed.

Sash tie length

Lay sash/tie out flat away from the garment and measure from end to end.

Belt with buckle

Measure from the end of the pin of the buckle (where it touches the buckle) to the middle hole.

Belt without buckle

Measure from the belt portion end to end and half of the tie portion. This is will give you the medium size of the belt.
